Yesterday was the warmest day ever in September. It was 27 degrees. G H

Yesterday I flipped over the handlebars of my friends bike and banged my head. P L

In Kerry they have released eagles and two of them have settled down on an island near Mountshannon.

In Woodpark Mountshannon they have cut down loads of trees to make room. They have also made a new entrance to the car park and blocked off the old entrance. A M

In Woodpark the rivers are being dammed by some people. Nobody knows who they are but we think they do it for the beauty of a little waterfall. T A

Today is my birthday and I am eleven years old. It is also my auntie's birthday. C D

Yesterday I went to speech and drama for the first time this year. We did poems, dramas and improvisatons. C G

Tony Moloney, the magician, came to Scariff library on Tuesday evening. He did some very good magic tricks. Lots of people enjoyed the show. D S

My sister and I are starting keyboard lessons today with our music teacher. SW

An English ship, torpedoed in the second world war, has been discovered 4.5km down in the Atlantic 300km off the coast of Ireland. It was carrying 20 tons of silver which a salvage firm hope to get up next summer. D S

My dog had puppies. She had four pups. They are terriers, two girls and two boys.There are two black and two tanned pups. We might be keeping one. L B

I am going to Killarney with my family whenever we want, because that was the prize my parents won on the Late Late Show. F H

Monday 26th September 2011

My brother Darren was playing in an under 15 match in Scariff. They were playing  Bodyke on Saturday and they won. The score was five goals and six points to no score. Darren was man of the match.

Munster beat Cardiff on Friday in the Pro 12 rugby league. The score was 18-13. J C

This morning I watched the sunrise. The colours in it were bright pinks, yellow's and oranges.

I am grading in a month for my red belt . I do Tao Kwon Do in Ennis every Friday evening. A N

I got a new flute on Sunday. R K

I went to the Trad weekend in Cois Na Habhna and I was playing my banjo. G H

The Solhiem cup was on in Ceilin castle. It was USA against Europe. The score was 14-12, Europe won.

I went to Portugal for ten day's and it was lovely. It was about 20 to 40 degrees which was very hot for Portugal for September.My uncle got married as well. I had a great time. C G

Yesterday Ireland beat Russia 62-12 in the Rugby World Cup. It was a good  win and at half time they were leading 36-0. Next they play Italy and if they win it's the quarter finals. L B

My mam has organised a Trad weekend and there is a junior session on at Spuds that I am taking part in . CD


Fiddle class started yesterday evening.  My class  was from 4.40pm to  5:30pm,  it was  a  lot  of fun and very nice to be back.   AN


There is a Trad festival on this weekend  Anna, Claire and I will be playing in the junior session  as will  many others.  H.N

The Nasa satellite is  due  to crash land over Ireland  tomorrow  morning.

I went to the ploughing championship. It was held in Athy Co. Kildare. There was massive machinery on display and there were many bulls also. J C

There is a new waterplane service in Mountshannon. It connects Mountshannon to Galway and Dublin and the Aran Islands. M O' R

Yesterday there was a car crash near my house. It involved a jeep and a horse box. Thankfully there was no one hurt. A N

My uncle's house went on fire yesterday evening. Everybody was ok. A lot of things were smoke damaged. C K

I am going to get a new music teacher today. She is going to be teaching me the concertina. O K

The ploughing championships are on today in Kildare. Lot's of farmers from around the country go to it. H N

Tonight is the first night of speech and drama classes. It is in Scariff Community College. It begins at 7pm and ends at 8pm. A N

Munster beat the Scarlets 35-12 in the Pro 12 rugby. It was played in Musgrave Park in Cork on Saturday.

Tipperary beat Dublin in the All Ireland minor football final on Sunday. The score was 3-9 to 1-14.

I went to a threshing yesterday. I got to see my grandad's threshing machine in action. It was a lovely day. It was held in Woodford. A N

In the Rugby World Cup Ireland beat Australia 15-6. It was a good match and it was an unexpected win.    L B

Whitegate, Ogonnelloe, Scariff U16 had their shield final yesterday. It was against Inagh-Kilnamona and they won. Two past - pupils were playing, Reuben Noyes and Colin Burke. They played very well and the score was 3-13 to 1-11. H N

Dublin beat Kerry in the All Ireland football final. The score was 1-12 to 1-11. Dublin scored a point in  the last thirty seconds to win. A S

There was a kid's day at the farmers market at Killaloe yesterday. I was selling at the market. L O' M

My little cousin has a kidney infection. He is very sick. He is staying at home today. A B

I watched the All Ireland minor football final between Dublin and Tipperary and Tipperary won the All Ireland D H

I went to the Threshing on Sunday morning, then I watched the All Ireland minor and senior final. I am glad Dublin won ! The score was 1-12 to 1-11. A N

We went for a walk to Woodford. We were building a toy boat. O B

On Saturday my sister had her 21st. We got home around 5am. It was great fun. A M

Friday September 16th 2011

Mountshannon Celtic football played Connolly Celtic in the semi-final yesterday at 6.45. The ref was fifty minutes late so we played the match in the dark. Mountshannon won the match by four goals. We are now playing Newmarket-On-Fergus in the final. This is our fourth final in a row against Newmarket-On-Fergus in the under twelve's girls cup.

Ireland are playing Australia tomorrow morning at half nine in the Rugby World cup. J C

My sister Aideen has a camogie blitz tomorrow in Clooney-Quin. G H

I was watching a movie last night. It was called 'Marley and Me' and it was so sad I was crying. G H

This day three weeks ago I went to see 'Phantom of the Opera'. It was very enjoyable. It was a bit scary but I enjoyed it very much and the singing was brilliant. A N

I went horse riding yesterday in Ballina. I go horse riding every Wednesday. E.O'M.

My dog Bongo got a big white collar on him because he cut his paw on something although we dont know what. The collar is so that so he doesn't rip his stitches. JA

I got stuck in an elevator yesterday. I was by myself and it was scary. I was in T.K. Maxx and I was on the second floor. I was going down to the ground floor. The elevator went down and stopped. A person's voice came on but I could not understand it. I heard voices outside but could not understand them. I pressed the second floor button and it went up again and the doors opened. E O' M.

My power went on and off in my house for long periods of time yesterday because of the weather. D V

Music lesson are starting tonight at 8-45pm in the Community College. Michael Grogan is teaching me the accordion.

Irish Dancing is starting up again today with Joanne Dunphy Allen at the hall at 5pm.  A.S.

Speach & Drama  is starting tonight.
The enrolment is tonight and the class begins next week in Scariff Community College from 6 to7 o'clock . AN

We are getting the tail end of hurricane Katia, it is due to last for the rest of the day. I saw a blown down tree on the way to school. E O' M

The Tulla Trad Festival was on this weekend. It was good. I took part in the workshop. O K

Ireland beat USA in the Rugby world cup 22-10. We should have won by more. J C

Yesterday was the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Around three thousand people died. They had a memorial service and built two new waterfalls in memory of all those who died. Around the edge are  the names of all those who died. H N

I did a 10k walk yesterday. It took me one hour and twenty three minutes. It was somewhat hard but I enjoyed it ! A N

I got a new fiddle on Saturday. C K

I was on a boat. It was very windy. The boat would not start. It was very very boring. L S

I won a holiday to America. I am very happy, my sisters and brother are very happy, my mam and dad are very happy too. G H

On Saturday I had a hurling blitz. We won a match and lost one. It was the 9/11 anniversary yesterday.

I got a scab on my arm from scratching it against a branch of a tree. I also fell over and got a bruise on my foot. A M

I went to Portumna and I went foodshopping. I saw the dreadful remains of the Shannonoaks L S

I watched the camogie match between Wexford and Antrim. Wexford won !. N B

I went to see my baby sister Molly. She is two weeks old and I brought photos. She is really cute. A C L

I saw my new puppies, they are really cute. They cant see. Their mom protects them. They are really light, one is black, another is brown and white and two are brown.

I went to Limerick on Saturday and I got a new toy. C B

I went to pony camp. At the end there were two people and they dressed up as sumo wrestlers and they fought. A B

My brothers had a blitz. They were split in half, on two teams.One of my brothers won a match, the other lost. A H

Tomorrow after school my sister is coming home from America. She has been there for six months. I'm really excited. A M

The Shannon Oaks hotel in Portumna got badly damaged yesterday after a fire started around lunchtime. L.B.

My dog Smeigles had pups, they are a mix of Labrador and Beagle. She had eight. P.L.

I got a new phone after my old one broke. Its a Nokia C3, the same as Robyn's. HN

My mum is starting college today. RK

Last Saturday I ate wild goose for the first time. CG

Last Friday I came home from New York, I was there for two and a half months.I was there for  an earthquake and a hurricane !.While I was there we took a trip to Washington D.C. I had a great time. AN

At the Scariff show I entered my Knex into a competition. I got first place and the prize was €7. AM

My puppy Charlie came fourth at a dog show. He is ten weeks old and he is a yorkshire terrier. CD

I went to the Scariff show on Saturday. I entered my dog in the dogshow. My dog's name is Rosy and she came fourth. E O' M
